Biography

Dr. Wang obtained his PhD from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in pharmacokinetics and pharmacogenetics in 2007. He joined Western University of Health Sciences for his postdoctoral training and was promoted to research assistant professor in 2012 with research and teaching emphasis on formulation development and pharmacokinetics, herbal medicine and cancer research.

Dr. Wang has successfully completed a couple of projects either as PI or as a collaborator with other researchers. His research work has led to a number of peer-reviewed publications and two book chapters. He is also the co-inventor of several U.S. patents. Dr. Wang has presented his work in multiple professional conferences in the form of oral and poster presentations including ACCP, AAPS, ASCPT and SIO. He moderated a section related to fusion protein drug at AAPS National Biotechnology Conference in 2014. 

Dr. Wang has served as a reviewer for more than 18 reputable journals, including Journal of Drug Targeting, Health Expectations, Journal of Natural Products and the Journal Clinical Pharmacology. 

His current research focuses on the following three areas: (1) investigation of herbal medicine to improve chemotherapy based on personalized/precision medicine concept, (2) new formulation development to achieve better therapeutic outcomes, and (3) pre-clinical and clinical pharmacokinetic studies.
