Peer Advice: Budget Friendly Hangout Spots

Before I started school, I was always thinking about how I won’t have a life and how I won’t be able to see my friends often.

Attending graduate school is already stressful enough, I am always trying to find things to do that would relieve my stress during the week. Even if it’s just an hour or two, any time that you have that is free should not be put to waste. Do you struggle to find a hangout spot that is within your budget? Are you looking to have fun with your classmates near campus? In order to enjoy school a little more, I found some budget friendly places to hang out at!

Here are a few suggestions below:

  • Cinemark Theaters
    • Century Stadium 25 and XD in Orange
      • Are you looking to relax and watch the latest movies? Enjoy a discounted movie on Tuesdays for $5.50 without fees! Avoid extra fees when you purchase tickets in person!
  • Bowlero
    • Fullerton
      • Ready for an arm workout? College Night is after 9PM every Thursday. Unlimited bowling is $16.69/per person with shoes included. You can also have some snacks and pints at a discounted rate of $2.25.
  • Round1
    • Main Place Mall in Santa Ana
      • Want to show off your skills in arcade games? Round1 is offering unlimited time play for 60 minutes every day on games that has green swipers. On Monday through Thursday, it is $8. On Friday through Sunday, it is $10.
  • Dave & Buster’s
    • The Outlets at Orange in Orange
      • Are you trying to play games while buzz? Every Wednesday, games are half price all day long! If you’re looking to drink, there is happy hour which consists of half off cocktails, $2.95 domestic pints, $1 off 22oz drafts, $1 off glasses of wine, and $3 off bottles of wine. Happy hours on weekdays is from Monday through Friday at 4PM-7PM and 10PM-closing. Happy hour on Sunday is from 10PM-12AM.
