Amy L. Grimes, OD, is a 1998 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Optometry and completed her one-year residency training in Primary Care/Low Vision Rehabilitation at the Southern Arizona Veterans Affairs Healthcare System (SAVAHS) in Tucson in 1999. Dr. Grimes became the Residency Program Coordinator in April 2001. She has been on the SCCO faculty since 2000 and was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in 2012. She is active in optometric education as the VA Liaison of the Residency Affairs Committee of the Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry, as a consultant for the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education, and as an examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. She possesses broad clinical privileges that include therapeutic prescriptive authority and practices full-scope primary care optometry.
