Dr. Caren Oquindo graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. She earned her Doctorate of Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO) at Marshall B. Ketchum University (MBKU). After graduating from SCCO, Dr. Oquindo completed a residency in Low Vision and Primary Care at the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System in Tucson, Arizona. Following her residency, she joined SCCO as a part-time clinical instructor in addition to working in a private practice for 2 years where she did a little bit of everything from seeing pediatric to geriatric patients and fitting contact lenses. In 2014, she became a full-time assistant professor with clinical and laboratory teaching responsibilities at MBKU. In 2018, she again transitioned to a part-time position to spend more time at home with her first baby Camille.
