Biography

Dr. Emily Stephey earned her Doctor of Optometry degree summa cum laude from the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University. She completed a residency in Primary Care and Ocular Disease at HuHuKam Memorial Hospital in Sacaton, AZ, followed by a position working alongside a vitreoretinal surgeon in Torrance, CA.

Since joining the faculty as an Assistant Professor in 2020, Dr. Stephey has taken on various responsibilities, including lecturing and teaching laboratory sessions in the Ocular Health Procedures and Ocular Disease tract. She also serves as the Chief of the Ophthalmology Consultation service, where she manages the clinic department. She also provides patient care in the Primary Care and Ocular Disease clinic department with 3rd year and 4th year interns.

Dr. Stephey has presented numerous lectures at local, state, and national conferences, focusing on ocular disease management, ocular complications of systemic conditions, and advanced imaging technologies. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association, and the Orange County Optometric Society.
