Alyse Kirschen, Director of Student Counseling Services, brings to Marshall B. Ketchum University a wealth of experience and has developed a multi-dimensional approach to providing support to students. Dr. Kirschen received her BA and MA in Psychology and her PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley. She served as a Technical Consultant to the California Department of Mental Health promoting prevention and early intervention through the Early Mental Health Initiative. She is a licensed psychologist with advanced training in family therapy and neuropsychology and many years of experience assisting students in educational and clinical settings. She is available for crisis intervention and provides confidential counseling to students who may be struggling with issues such as stress, anxiety, depression or relationships. Dr. Kirschen maintains a private psychotherapy practice in Orange County. She is active in professional and community organizations but always prioritizes time for family, wellness and travel.
