Dr. Erin Hales joined Marshall B. Ketchum University in September of 2017. She leads the marketing, branding, communications and public relations strategies of Marshall B. Ketchum University and Marshall B. Ketchum University's patient care and clinical teaching facility, Ketchum Health.
Dr. Hales brings over 16 years of marketing and communications experience ranging from higher education, nonprofit and publishing. Dr. Hales has served as the Director of Marketing and Communications at the educational nonprofit, THINK Together and Vanguard University. In those roles, Dr. Hales managed the marketing and communications team as well as the brand of the organizations. Erin was heavily involved with the creative design process and responsible for the development and production for all marketing and communications materials that supported and promoted the organizations and the various departments and offices, including all advertising, social media and public relations efforts.
During her tenure at Vanguard University, Dr. Hales and her team earned over 40 service industry advertising awards for their creative and design work and she spearheaded the verbal and visual brand identity implementation for the university, athletics department and capital campaign.
Dr. Hales marketing and communications career began with a job in advertising in the publishing industry where she had hands on experience in the advertising and sales division, working closely with clients and the sales team to understand the important dynamics of the advertising industry. She then expanded her marketing career by moving in to the corporate marketing field where she handled the company’s advertising and marketing, and provided creative direction on all marketing projects to help facilitate the brand of the company.
Dr. Hales is a member of the American Marketing Association and the Public Relations Society of America. Additionally, Dr. Hales has served as a marketing communications chair for a variety of different educational committees: two university presidential inaugurations, a 7-million dollar capital campaign project and the president’s executive leadership council.
Dr. Hales and her husband live in Anaheim with their fur babies, Chloe, Elway and Bailey. Dr. Hales earned her BA in English from Mount Saint Mary’s University, her MBA from Vanguard University, and her Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership from University of Massachusetts Global.
