It's already been a month since our commencement celebrations for the Class of 2020 and today, we're just as proud of their achievements and resilience, such with SCCO's Dr. Alazigha Owei, who shares this about their journey, "It took being delayed by a year, successfully passing 3 Board examinations, a state law exam, 4 clinical rotations, and endless studying, sacrifices, and tears to get to where I am today. Optometry school was no easy feat for me and anyone who has been on this journey with me knows that. There were times when I wanted to give up. Times when I felt I was not capable. Times when I wanted to leave the program. In fact, I did leave the program for 1 year because I did not pass one of my classes. In that year off I contemplated whether or not to return to the program. Taking that year off was the best thing that ever happened to me. I took that time to heal, grow, and become stronger." #MBKUProud ?:
