Meet the College of Pharm

Meet the College of Pharmacy Class of 2021 President: "Dave here. I’m President of the Fourth-Year Pharmacy Class. If you don’t know, my life before pharmacy school included freelance writing, training in education, and pharmacy tech-ing. I grew up in Texas and have a degree in English from UT. I lived in CA for about 10 years, including all my wonderful hours spent in front of a projector screen in the HPB. Some of my favorite times at MBKU included serving on student councils, throwing class Halloween parties, founding a student organization, and being 50% of the first-ever MBKU team to compete in the CSHP Clinical Skills Competition. We’re making history, yall! Before MBKU I was a tech and senior tech at Walgreens for 14 years and all of that background knowledge really came in handy during my pharmacy classes. I have relocated to the East coast and have maintained my job with Walgreens throughout rotations. When they asked for volunteers to work at COVID testing sites, I jumped at the opportunity. I am extremely interested in the expanding role of pharmacists in the current healthcare setting; but the type of interested where I want to go and actually do it, you know? When I get time away from school and work, I love to make art or do home-improvement-type projects with my wife, the incomparable Marlow. If I’m really lucky, I get to go on a hike or socially distanced sightseeing trip with my 2 little doggos. Also cooking. Love cooking. It’s like compounding without having to glove up or write down all the lot numbers. Now that we’re all out on rotation, it’s fun to check in and see where everyone has ended up. So, if you want to talk, drop me a line. Even if we’ve never talked before, don’t be a stranger!" #FacesofMBKU
