Join us for our “Divers

Submitted by kwall on

Join us for our “Diversity in Healthcare” webinar next Wed, Sept 30 at 7pm (link in our bio), as we learn from our alumni about their journeys, experience as a minority professional, and the importance of cultural humility as a healthcare provider in diverse patient populations.

As part of the Student Leadership Development Program, this inaugural event was developed and organized by Aaron Hunro and Caitlin Lefort, both PA students from the Class of 2020, to address “the need for cultural humility when dealing with all of our patients regardless of their background, demographic, race or ethnicity.” This event also kicks off the launch of our Cultural Humility Micro-credential, which is now available to current students.

This multifaceted program is lead by Student Affairs Vice President, Carmen Barnhardt, OD, MSEd, and Director, Karlos Santos-Coy, MBA, and is designed to develop and foster skills in students, model the organizational and interpersonal tools necessary for good leadership, and empower students to engage and collaborate with others as they embark on their future roles as healthcare providers.

We’re excited to continue our cultural learning with you, the MBKU community. Be part of the conversation next Wednesday. We hope to see you there!
