Biography

Dr. Mietzner received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Concordia University and his Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry. He also received a Masters degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University. 

Dr. Mietzner is a retired Colonel in the U.S. Air Force with over 27 years of service. He held several military assignments during his time in the Air Force, including Senior Surgical Operations Executive Officer (Commander) at the Mike O’Callaghan Federal Hospital at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada, as well as Optometry Service Chief (Flight Commander) at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas and Optometry Service Chief (Flight Commander) at the Mike O’Callaghan Federal Hospital at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada. 

Dr. Mietzner is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is currently a Staff Optometrist at the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System in Las Vegas, NV.
