Jennifer Nguyen, Student Pharmacist from the Class of 2021, was recently published in the Pharmacy Times during her block 1 rotation, alongside her preceptor Dr. Jonathan Ogurchak, about their research on Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), an HIV prevention approach in which people at risk for HIV (current HIV-negative individuals) take daily medicine to prevent it. Jennifer also helped draft a standard operating procedure during her block 2 rotation for their community pharmacist to follow in order to furnish HIV PrEP & PEP medications in compliance with California Senate Bill (SB) 159.

Join us in honoring and celebrating Dr. Tim Edrington's amazing career as he embarks on his next chapter in life with his retirement. Dr. Edrington joined the Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO) in 1978. He served as the Chief of the SCCO Cornea and Contact Lens Service for 20 years. If you don’t know, my life before pharmacy school included freelance writing, training in education, and pharmacy tech-ing. I grew up in Texas and have a degree in English from UT.
