Hello @ketchumuniversity family! My name is Aaron Hunro, PA-S2, here at Marshall B Ketchum University. I am a first-generation Cambodian-American but a second-generation PA. My father came here as a refugee and became a PA-C. #PALikePops. I decided to follow his footsteps and pursue medicine and care for my hometown. Long Beach, CA, is home of the largest population of Cambodians outside of Cambodia and our community is extremely underserved— as there are not very many Khmer-speaking healthcare providers.

While it's not the event we originally planned for, we look forward to a reflective and joyous celebration of accomplishments from the College of Pharmacy's inaugural class of graduates and SCCO's 116th class. We encourage each of you to to prioritize your wellbeing and be gentle with yourself. In case this week has been extra challenging, we hope these tips from @optobrother put you in a more positive and introspective headspace: "This last year was thoroughly good. I would re-up if I were to run it back. And given how great this last year was, I thought I’d share some tips that made a difference for me:
1️⃣ You can never afford to not pay attention. Be involved and always listen.
2️⃣ Friends matter. They’re your support when times are tough, and the party when times are great.
3️⃣ Proper preparation prevents poor performance. Yes, I’m talkin’ ‘bout practice.
In another article from our recent publication of the President's Report, the now Dr. Sahar Matin (Class of 2020!) shared how she got started in pharmacy. Her merits include such prestigious accomplishments as the Tylenol Future Care Scholarship and more. However, her driving force as a health care provider isn't from an award or recognition, but from a formative experience where she witnessed her aunt, who is also a pharmacist, deliver care to patients during a tragic earthquake in the remote region of Bam, Iran back in 2003. This experience has stayed with her since.
