Group shot of the student volunteers from last weekend's Distribution Day event! A huge shout out to all the Class Presidents, Class Board Members, the Campus Store, and Student Association Leaders for making this event successful.

Yesterday's Drive-Thru Distribution day went successfully thanks to the help of our volunteers and the enthusiasm of students and faculty! Besides picking up supplies, students also received a special gift from the MBKU Student Association (@weareMBKU) with #MBKUStrong merchandise to commemorate the resilience of everyone this past year ???

These OD2's are feeling elated to be able to put their skills into practice with their first official patients! ? ?️ This moment was made all the more special thanks to the support of their family and friends who received a comprehensive eye exam from their student optometrist. ? As a clinical teaching facility of MBKU, current students can also receive complimentary eye exams which help to further the learning of these student optometrists!

P4 Sophia Chorbadjian shared with us her feature on the podcast, CorConsult Rx: Evidence-Based Medicine, all about Adaptogen Herbs (tap the link in the bio for the episode), "This was my first APPE rotation with Santa Monica Homeopathic Pharmacy where I learned about various areas of natural medicine and how to approach patients, gather information, when natural medicine can be effective and safe, how they work, when they have potential drug interactions and when referrals are needed.

We've missed having our students on campus! Ambassador Joanne Vuong shared with us, "After a year of closure due to COVID, the library is back (at least for 3rd and 4th year OD students ?)! I wish all my 3rd year classmates luck as we continue on trekking through what seems like endless KMK notes ?. The end is in sight ? and we’ll soon be able to say we conquered NBEO part 1! Good luck, power through, we got this! ?"

#tbt with the SPAS Class of 2022 learning how to use POCUS, or Point-of-Care Ultrasound, to look at the gallbladder, lung sliding in the lungs and take a look at all four chambers of the heart! ?

In the first video, the gallbladder is the dark oval shaped object. The second video shows lung sliding up at the very top where you can see slight movement within the bright white line and the third video shows a healthy, beating heart!
